You may want to some Apps to be allowed to run when:

  • The mode is not allowed to be used at that time of the day, eg after bed time
  • The user has run out of base time allowance and has no token time left
  • ScreenCoach is not running

Note: This is how you do it on iPhones & iPads when you are using Apple Family controls or ScreenTime control.

See Android note at the bottom

To make these kinds of changes you need to be logged in as a parent on the child device first

  • head to the Menu:
  • Choose "switch user"
  • Choose a parent user

As a parent user

  • head to the Menu
  • Select Admin -> App Categories
  • Select Always Allowed

  • Then follow the steps.
  • (Note: You may need to figure out which category your app is in
For example Apple Music is under entertainment and Pod casts is under Health & Fitness)

That's it, these Apps will always be allowed to be used any any time, even if not allowed.

NOTE: you may need to disable notifications for when a device is used when not allowed - see "notifications"

ANDROID NOTE:

This feature is still under construction. If there are Apps you want to "always allow" on Android, let us know as we can do something in the back end.

Alternatively you can turn off the blocking feature while NAPLAN Testing is use and re-enable it after that.

Mac & PC Note
