ScreenCoach for Mac and Windows works with the main ScreenCoach system just like all the other apps and the ScreenCoach box. When users are not allowed to use devices they will be blocked here as well.
There are some extra features for desktops, not yet available on mobile, which allow us to choose which applications can run in different modes. This is an advanced setting.
To set it up:
- Download the installer Downloads | ScreenCoach Resources (myscreencoach.com), then click the download button.
- Open the installer that you just downloaded.
- On Mac open the virtual disk image and copy it to your applications folder.
- On Windows run the Installer
- if you get a warning (expand the window) then click "run anyway" (it is safe)
- Launch the Desktop ScreenCoach App
- On Mac: when you run it for the first time, it may ask for the Mac administrator's password (enter it and choose the "always allow" option.
- On Windows, you may be asked to enter a Window's admin pin code
- If ScreenCoach asks you to enter a PIN before you get to the choose user screen
- This is a special device PIN, only needed if you need to quit the app & kill it if there is an issue.
- If you are logged in as a parent you don't need a PIN to quit the app
- At the Account login screen
- Pick the QR code option to quickly link it to your account
- Use the Mobile ScreenCoach app to "link device" (via the lightning bolt)
- Take a photo of the QR code from that screen or enter the pairing code if you are not in the same house!
