You can add a mode and set it to be accessible only during school hours and maybe call it 'School,' likewise a mode called 'Play.'

To add a mode, follow these steps on your (parent) device:

1. Launch ScreenCoach on your mobile device.

2. Go to "Settings" from the tab bar at the bottom of the screen.

3. Choose "Manage Modes" from the menu that appears on the following screen.

4. Click on the '+' icon on the next screen.

5. Click on "Add Mode" in the form that appears.

6. Enter a mode name, say School, and hit "NEXT."

7. Assign the users who can access this mode in the next step and hit "NEXT."

8. Click on the time buttons to set the "Access Time" for this mode.

9. Modify the "Access Time" to fit your needs. For example, you could change the days to Monday through Friday (or however many days your child attends school) and enter 9:00 am to 3:30 pm (or whatever your child's school hours are) for this mode.

10. Hit "SAVE."

11. You will return to the "Modes" screen, and this new mode will be added to the list.

To get the most out of ScreenCoach:

  • Add a multiplier to this mode. Click on the mode > Go to "DAILY LIMITS" > Set "Time Multiplier" to be "Free Usage." This way, time used on this mode will not be counted as they are doing school work.
  • Create "App Categories" to group apps into categories that you want to either allow or restrict for a mode. For example, restrict apps of the "Entertainment" category in "School" mode. To learn more about that, refer to this FAQ.
