You can enable app blocking on Apple iPhones and iPads from within the ScreenCoach app settings on the device that needs to be managed.

If the device being managed is part of an Apple family it will be 100% unbeatable by the kids!

If the device is not part of an Apple Family ScreenCoach will still work however you need to take extra steps to prevent the kids deleting the ScreenCoach app with Apple Screen time setting's

if you only have iOS 15 you MUST have an Apple family to block apps with ScreenCoach.

ScreenCoach will not work on iOS 14 or earlier.

Below are the steps to set up Apple Family for iOS 15 & iOS 16

How to  set up Apple Family on iOS15. Here are the steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 15

  2. Tap on your name at the top of the screen to access your Apple ID settings.

  3. Scroll down and tap on "Family Sharing."

  4. Tap on "Get Started" and follow the prompts to set up your Family Sharing group. You can add family members by inviting them through iMessage or by entering their Apple IDs.

  5. Once you have set up your Family Sharing group, you can enable "Ask to Buy" for your child's account. This will require your approval before your child can purchase or download apps, movies, or other content.

  6. Optional extra (not needed for ScreenCoach)
Tap on "iTunes & App Store Purchases" and set "Deleting Apps" to "Don't Allow."

That's it! With these settings in place, your child will need your approval to download new apps, and they won't be able to delete any apps without your permission.

It is better NOT to enable Apple's Screen time controls when you are new to ScreenCoach, once you have it up and running well, you can use some of the options like: content restrictions, but do not set any time limits or bed times as ScreenCoach will take care of that.

When you enable  "family controls " within the ScreenCoach mobile app, the child can't delete ScreenCoach even if you don't have option 6 set above

How to  set up Apple Family on iOS16. Here are the steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your device and tap on your name at the top.

  2. Tap on "Family Sharing" and then tap "Get Started."

  3. Follow the prompts to set up your family group, invite family members, and enable sharing of purchases and subscriptions.

  4. To prevent your kids from deleting apps, you can enable the "Ask to Buy" feature. This will require your approval before any purchases or downloads are made by your children.

  5. To enable "Ask to Buy," go back to the "Family Sharing" settings and tap on your child's name.

  6. Turn on the "Ask to Buy" toggle.

  7. Please DO NOT Set Apple Screen time (initially)

That's it! With these settings in place, your child will need your approval to download new apps, and they won't be able to delete any apps without your permission.

Additionally, you can set other restrictions esp content restrictions, but do not set any time limits or bed times as ScreenCoach will take care of that.

When you enable  "family controls " within the ScreenCoach mobile app, the child can't delete ScreenCoach even if you don't have option 4 set above
